During the Pokken Tournament segment last night at the Nintendo Spotlight presentation, The Pokemon Company’s Tsunekazu Ishihara briefly mentioned that a core Pokemon RPG is being developed for the Nintendo Switch. He also added that the game may not release until next year.

Both Pokken Tournament DX and Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon were revealed on the Pokemon Direct just last week. While the international Pokemon community expressed mixed feelings about these reveals, most of the Pokemon fans in the Philippines appear quite satisfied and excited for these games.

No additional information were given aside from the aforementioned details. It is still far too early to conclude if Game Freak will now focus their development teams on the Nintendo Switch instead of the 3DS and vice versa. For now, both handheld and console owners should enjoy what's in store for them.
