Ubisoft, with the help of Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto, revealed that Fox McCloud will appear as a playable character exclusively in the Switch version of Starlink: Battle for Atlas. The game will come out on October 16, 2018.
Starlink is an open-world, toy-based game combining certain elements from Skylanders with a dash of space flight action-adventure goodness. Some people are even calling it as a kid-friendly No Man's Sky. Creative Director Laurent Malville also mentioned that Star Fox for the SNES was his first 3D game and that it was a "dream come true" to be able to add Fox in their game.
The Switch-exclusive Star Fox Starter Pack will include the following:
- Joy-Con mount
- Arwing ship model
- Fox McCloud figure
- Mason Rana figure
- in-game weapons: flamethrower, frost barrage, digital shredder
- digital Zenith starship
