Animal Crossing Pocket Camp's Ver 1.3.0 update just released a few days ago and as always, some people may still need to perform the VPN workaround to download the 59MB update from the Playstore as the game isn't officially out yet in our region.
Unlike in Fire Emblem Heroes, some Android users who have downloaded the game before using the VPN method can directly update the app from the Playstore. If you are unable to do this, you will still need to utilize a free VPN service like Tunnelbear VPN for the update. The steps below are also mentioned in the original How to Download Animal Crossing Pocket Camp in the Philippines post:
- Go to your phone's Settings and Select Apps.
- Find and select the Google Play Store app.
- Tap Force stop, confirm, then tap Clear data and finally Clear cache.
- Open the Google Play Store app and enter your login requirements. (See note below)
- Search for Animal Crossing Pocket Camp & select Update.
- After the download, go back to the Tunnelbear app and disable the VPN service.
- Open Animal Crossing Pocket Camp & it will prompt you to perform a separate 170MB update from the game itself.
Version 1.3.0 added the following Quality of Life improvements along with new features:
Super Mario Crossover Event
To celebrate MAR10 Day (March 10), you can now craft Super Mario-themed furniture and clothing for a limited using Super Mushrooms! You can get them by completing themed quests, as a random reward from Camper requests, or as a drop from the Shovelstrike Quarry. Some of the event furniture, like the Mario Rug, can only be purchased by using Leaf Tickets. In addition, the event will be divided into 3 rounds. There will be more types of Mushrooms available in Round 2 and 3, as well as new Timed Goals and new craftable furniture and clothing.:
- Round 1 - March 20, 2PM to April 10, 1:59PM local time
- Round 2 - March 21, 2PM to April 10, 1:59PM local time
- Round 3 - March 31, 2PM to April 10, 1:59PM local time
Fishing Tourney #1
The first Fishing Tournament is now live at Saltwater Shores. The goal is to catch as many special tourney fish as you can. The total amount of fish size you accumulate will be your score. Normal fish will not be included in the calculation. Various in-game items such as trophies, clothing, and furniture will be gradually given away as rewards. In addition, you can purchase terrain parts for your campsite using Leaf Tickets.
Inventory Space Upgrade
Everyone received an inventory space upgrade for free. You can now hold 50 more Collected Items. This also increased the previous cap from 250 to 300.
Other Quality of Life improvements
- Made Gardening a little easier with Mass Harvest
- Added Bug and Fish size record
- Various bug and stability fixes
Known Issues
- The Surgeonfish Tank, Clown Fish Tank, and Barred Knifejaw Tank may overlap other furniture.
- When a Chip Challenge is completed, a notification will also appear in the Goals tab.
- In some cases, the game will crash when unveil a new amenity while a round spring flower bed is in your campsite
