Physical copies of the stand-alone prequel, Xenoblade Chronicles 2- Torna: The Golden Country for the Nintendo Switch are now available from DataBlitz and Game One PH / i.TECH stores nationwide for P2,050 but there's a catch.

The Asian/MDE copies that our local retailers got from Maxsoft do not contain the DLC code for packs 1-4 of the Expansion Pass that can be played on the original base Xenoblade Chronicles 2 game. In retrospect, Asian/MDE 3DS games have no Club Nintendo codes inside them as well when the service was still around. Asian/MDE copies are indicated by the special logo at the back of the case, the ASI serial number in the cartridge label, and the support leaflet addressed to Singapore, Malaysia, UAE, and Saudi Arabia:

US/European copies should have a separate leaflet containing the aforementioned scratchable DLC code for the Expansion Pass:

If you want more bang with your buck, you can either:

1. If you have the base Xenoblade Chronicles 2 game, purchase the Expansion Pass for $29.99 (around P1,620). This contains both the DLC mentioned above plus the Torna: The Golden Country prequel but you need the base game to access the latter. OR

2. Purchase the digital version of the stand-alone Torna: The Golden Country prequel for $39.99 (around P2,160). This can be played without the base Xenoblade Chronicles game. It will also include a download code for the content mentioned above.

Would you rather purchase the physical copy as a collector's item and double-dip later for the DLC or would you rather opt straight for the digital version or Expansion Pass to save money?

As always, please coordinate with your preferred branch first to avoid unnecessary mishaps. You can use the Game Retailer Branches & Contacts page as reference for store locations and contact numbers.

Thanks to Ivan. F from the NINTENDO Philippines community for the heads-up and the photos.
