UPDATE: As of March 1, 2017 4PM Philippine Time, Play-Asia.com's free shipping offer has ended.If this is your first time hearing about Play-Asia.com, it is a legit Hong Kong-based online shop that sells imported consoles, games, accessories, and other entertainment media. They usually have rare items that are either no longer available in the Philippines or are extremely hard to find. Some examples include original 3DS and original 3DS XL accessories, New 3DS (regular) accessories, Circle Pad Covers, New 3DS XL grips, out-of-print Nintendo DS games, Japanese/European eShop Prepaid Cards, and many more.
Prices may range from "bargain deal" to "whoah, really?", especially if you also add rarity, shipping, type of courier service, tax, and other miscellaneous fees to the picture. In addition, thanks to the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act signed last year, imported items valued at P10,000 and below should now be exempted from Custom duties & taxes.
FedEx/UPS is faster but is more expensive. You have to pay a processing fee of around P560 which is separate from the Play-Asia's shipping fee. Air Economy Box is cheaper but it does take some time to arrive. Estimated arrival time can range from several days to a few weeks. Delivery is door-to-door via local mail service. EMS's delivery time is between the two but you will have to pay a processing fee of around P112 and you can only claim your package at a PhilPost Office. eShop codes will be sent immediately to your email.
