UPDATE: The White/Orange New 2DS color will also be available at launch.According to a local retailer who asked not to be identified, New Nintendo 2DS XL units that will release on its launch here will be Asian/ASI region. It will also come with a 220v genuine Nintendo charger. Both the Black/Turquoise and White/Orange models will be available at launch. Availability of US region units and other unit colors are currently unknown.
The Asian/ASI region is basically the same as the US region (also known as North American, and MDE) compatibility-wise so you won't have issues playing 3DS and New 3DS-exclusive games that are sold here in the Philippines. You will only encounter an issue if you will lose your New 2DS XL in the future or somehow wreck it beyond repair since you won't be able to perform a System Transfer on your own.
Nintendo's Support Team can manually transfer the Nintendo Network ID (NNID) of stolen or damaged device to another unit under certain conditions. This allows you to re-download all the games and DLCs you previously purchased from the eShop on your new system although save files cannot be recovered. The conditions are:
- Don't tell them that you live outside the USA.
- You must know the details of your NNID (eg: email address, purchases, etc), source, and target systems (Serial Numbers).
- Your source system (stolen/damaged) must be US region.
- The target system (new unit) must also be US region.

The local retailer was not able to provide an official final price for the New Nintendo 2DS XL. Its price will most probably be only revealed when it launches here. The estimated local price is around P9,500-P10,000+, based on the previous price of the Super Mario 3D Land New 3DS bundle released a year ago. The system in question also had an SRP of $149.99 (around P6,936 excluding tax using the exchange rate that time) in the US but it was sold here for P9,495.
