Capcom finally revealed Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, which will be come out in both physical and digital forms on August 28, 2018. Although it was first released as a 3DS title in Japan, the English version of the game will only be available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch in the West.
It's no Monster Hunter World but at least you'll be able to enjoy it on-the-go for local multiplayer hunting sessions. Players of the original Monster Hunter Generations on the 3DS can also transfer save data to continue their journey in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate for the Switch. The enhanced version of the game offers a ton of new features, from new hunting styles, the addition of new and returning monsters and areas, the ability to fuse two sets of armors where you can keep the aesthetics of one and the stats of the other, and other Quality of Life improvements.
Also known as Monster Hunter XX in Japan, the game came out last March 18, 2017 for the 3DS and then on August 25, 2017 for the Nintendo Switch. Even though the Switch is region-free, the game did not offer any English language option. Players back then had to learn the Japanese language or consult online guides to be able to explore its various features. People who opted to wait for its localization got worried due to Capcom's E3 2017 statement and their focus on Monster Hunter World for all the other platforms aside from Nintendo.
Is this enough to convince you to buy a Nintendo Switch?
