While Nintendo didn't show off any new games or make any groundbreaking announcements in yesterday's The Game Awards 2015, they did take home three awards.
Super Mario Maker received the Best Family Game award, while Splatoon won two categories: Best Multiplayer and Best Shooter. Unfortunately, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate lost to Lara Croft Go for Best Mobile/Handheld Game.
Perhaps the most memorable Nintendo-related segment in the event was the tribute for the late Satoru Iwata, who passed away earlier this July. Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime also delivered an emotional speech which you can watch below:
