Nintendo revealed that Dr. Mario World will be coming to iOS and Android platforms sometime during the 3rd quarter this year.

The game is also co-developed together with LINE Corporation and NHN Entertainment, who are known for their mobile applications and mobile games respectively. It will initially release in approximately 60 countries although it is unclear if the Philippines will be among the supported regions. To date, 3 out of the current 4 Nintendo-published mobile games are still not available in our country: Fire Emblem Heroes, Animal Crossing Pocket Camp, and Dragalia Lost. Dr. Mario World will be free to download with optional in-app purchases similar to the aforementioned games.

If you are unfamiliar with the series, it is a falling block puzzle game where your objective is to destroy the viruses on-screen by matching them with appropriately colored capsules. It is akin to similar games like Tetris and Puyo Puyo. The latest Dr. Mario game is Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure which came out for the 3DS on June 11, 2015. You can also play the original Game Boy and NES/Family Computer versions on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U Virtual Console.

Here's a short trailer for the 3DS iteration, just in case you want to give it a shot while waiting for the mobile one:
