Fighting game spin-off Pokken Tournament got an upgrade with Pokken Tournament DX for the Nintendo Switch.
Aside from standard Switch perks (eg: the ability to play the game on the go with Handheld mode, the ability to enjoy HD gameplay on the big screen with Dock mode, and the ability to use JoyCons for quick 2-player bouts on Tabletop mode), the Deluxe version of the game will also offer new characters and features.
While the Wii U version has 16 characters, the enhanced Switch version added 5 characters to the roster: Darkrai, Scizor, Empoleon, Croagunk, and Decidueye. Several modes were also added to the game such as 3 vs 3 Battles, Online Ranked Matches, and Friend-only Group Matches.
Pokken Tournament DX will launch on the Nintendo Switch on September 22, 2017.
Aside from various E3-related events in the US, Pokken Tournament DX is also planned to be showcased during the Nintendo Treehouse Live presentations starting June 13.
