Nintendo just unveiled the Mini SNES Classic Edition, its next console in the classic mini series. It will come out on September 29, 2017 for $79.99 (around P4,012 excluding tax). For reference, the Mini NES Classic Edition had an SRP of $59.99 (around P3,000) but it was sold here locally for P4,995 which went up to P6,995 a few weeks after.

The US version of the Mini SNES Classic Edition comes with 2 controllers, an HDMI cable, USB power cable, AC adapter, and 21 SNES games, which includes the never-been-released Star Fox 2. Some games like Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting, Super Mario Kart, Contra III The Alien Wars, and Secret of Mana also include multiplayer features that utilizes the second controller.

The European version features the same items excluding the AC adapter and its external appearance is a sleeker version of the original Japanese Super FamiCom.

As another comparison, the US version of the first Mini NES Classic Edition featured only 1 controller and 30 NES games, a number of which didn't appear in the Japanese version (Mini FamiCom Classic Edition).

Here are the 21 SNES games included in the system:

  • Contra III: The Alien Wars
  • Donkey Kong Country
  • EarthBound
  • Final Fantasy III
  • F-ZERO
  • Kirby Super Star
  • Kirby’s Dream Course
  • The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
  • Mega Man X
  • Secret of Mana
  • Star Fox
  • Star Fox 2
  • Street Fighter® II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
  • Super Castlevania IV
  • Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts
  • Super Mario Kart
  • Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
  • Super Mario World
  • Super Metroid
  • Super Punch-Out!!
  • Yoshi’s Island
The first Mini NES Classic Edition shipped around 2.3 million units before its cancellation early this year. Nintendo also experienced issues meeting up with the demand during the console's lifespan.
