Released on February 13, 2015, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate has been the most successful Monster Hunter entry outside of Japan, easily passing the 1 million sales mark in North America in April 2015. As of October 2015, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate has sold more than 4 million units worldwide.
Aside from the new online multiplayer feature only previously seen on the Wii U version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, one of the new useful features added to Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate has been the free monthly DLC pack updates. Aside from aesthetic crossover items referencing other Nintendo series like Metroid, Animal Crossing, The Legend of Zelda, and others, most of the DLC items are geared towards improving your overall hunting experience.
Unfortunately, the monthly updates have now come to an end, with the current November release ending this run. Here's the quick breakdown of what you'll be getting for this month:
- 12 New quests (including 3 New Arena challenges)
- 2 New GX armor sets
- 7 New masks
- 1 Bonus Palico: Sanchez
- 1 New Poogie costume: Disco Ball
- 2 Guild Card background
- 7 Guild Card titles, including the title "Monster Hunter"
If you have also downloaded all the free updates from March, April, May, June, July, August, September, and October, then you're looking at a whopping library:
- 120 Quests
- 18 Armor sets
- 14 Unique armor pieces
- 34 Weapons
- 22 Palico equipment sets
- 9 Bonus Palicoes
- 4 Palico costumes
- 5 Guild Card poses
- 20 Guild Card backgrounds
- 78 Guild Card titles
Here's all you need to do to get this content:
- Connect your Nintendo 3DS to the Internet
- Load your copy of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
- Go to the "DLC" menu
- Download everything!
Quests will be saved under "Event Quests" (with the Questatrix) and "Challenge Quests" (with the Arena Bambina) in the Gathering Hall. G-Rank quests and G-Rank Challenge Quests can be found in the Elder Hall and Assembly, respectively.
As usual, you can still get all the DLC from previous months as well.
Good luck getting the new GX armor sets, and you might also want to check the Pinoy Monster Hunter subgroup while you're at it! Happy hunting!
