UPDATE: Early access to Animal Crossing Pocket Camp can be found here.In case you missed it, Nintendo just announced their next mobile game following Fire Emblem Heroes in this morning's Nintendo Direct.
Similar to Miitomo and Fire Emblem Heroes, Animal Crossing Pocket Camp will be a free-to-download mobile game with in-app purchases. An active internet connection is also required to play the game.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is supported on iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad devices running iOS 9.0 or newer. Sadly, this does not include iPhone 4S/5/5c, iPad 2/3rd Generation/4th Generation/mini, and iPod Touch 5th Generation. The game is supported on Android OS 4.2 or newer although some devices may not be compatible even though they have the correct OS version.
The game will launch sometime in November but you can pre-register through this link to get notified about its exact release date. Sadly for Animal Crossing fans in the Philippines, our country is not included in their supported countries list although they have specifically stated that "Additional countries may be added to this list in the future".
For reference, Fire Emblem Heroes which launched worldwide last February 2 has yet to appear in our region as well. Players have to utilize workarounds (eg: VPN for Android users, using another Apple ID for iOS users) if they wish to download the game.
Gameplay-wise, Animal Crossing Pocket Camp feels somewhere between Miitomo and Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer. Isabelle gives you a beautiful but empty campsite where it is your task to craft furniture, amenities, and other fun items for your animal friends to interact with. You can also visit nearby recreation areas to go fishing, gather fruit, and collect bugs. Aside from crafting, you can also grown your friendship with other animals by fulfilling their requests. Leaf Tickets are the game's premium currency. You can acquire them through normal gameplay or by using real money. Using Leaf Tickets is optional of course if you are willing to grind for the materials and other missing requirements.
