Special Mii Kyle from Nintendo has dropped by the Mii Plaza to inform us about the upcoming National StreetPass Weekend this Holiday season. He also brought a new Puzzle Panel for the Puzzle Swap Mii Plaza mini-game.
Kyle's mysterious Special Mii has various perks in Mii Plaza games. Aside from sporting a different look from other normal Miis thanks to their sparkly Gold Pants, Special Miis contain all puzzle pieces from most of the panels in Puzzle Swap, including the pink ones. Ironically, even though Kyle's most recent software is Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, it appears that he doesn't have any puzzle piece from that panel. Special Miis also arrive as Level 5 Heroes from the get-go in Find Mii. In addition, Special Miis also have bonuses in Premium Mii Plaza games.
In the United States, Nintendo Zone hotspots receive and send StreetPass tags to nearby 3DS units within range. The data being circulated around is limited to a specific Nintendo Zone hotspot. During National StreetPass Weekend, this limiter is removed so StreetPass data from Nintendo Zones all over the country can travel freely (eg: Lonk from Pennsylvania can receive petch's StreetPass data even though she is all the way from Texas). StreetPass Weekend sounds an awesome event, right? The only sad part is that there are no certified Nintendo Zones in the Philippines.

In addition, the Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam panel has been added to Puzzle Swap. The 5x3 grid comprises of 15 standard puzzle pieces. Unlike Pink puzzle pieces which cannot by obtain through normal means, standard puzzle pieces are more manageable. You can get these from the random Puzzle Piece provided by the update, from someone you StreetPassed who already collected one, from a Special Mii, or from the "Get a Piece" feature which consumes 2 Play Coins.
