Japanese developer and publisher Agatsuma Entertainment has been dissolved due to financial difficulties. The company will be fully liquidated by March 31, 2016.
Agatsuma Entertainment co-developed Code of Princess with Studio Bones before they published it in Japan. This game was localized by Atlus for the North American (the same region as US, Asian, & MDE) audience. The studio also published Sayonara UmiharaKawase in Japan which was brought here by Natsume under the title Yumi's Odd Odyssey.
Gaming companies going under will always be a disheartening event. Earlier this year, Stella Glow and Luminous Arc series developer Imageepoch filed for bankruptcy due to its declining sales and debt. Rune Factory series and Lufia developer Neverland ceased operations and filed for bankruptcy 2 years ago as well. These events mean more than just losing the chances of getting a video game sequel. The very same people who created the games we played and loved are now susceptible to a mountain stress and financial uncertainty unless they find new opportunities.
