When the New 2DS XL first came out in the Philippines last July, retailers force-bundled it with a few games and amiibo figures. This pumped its price to P10,495. Two weeks later, the stand-alone package was finally released but it was still a little steep at P9,495.
Game One PH/i.TECH Philippines just revealed that they are now offering stand-alone US region (the same region as North America, Asian, & MDE) Black/Turquoise New 2DS XL systems for P8,495 (less P300 if paid with cash). It comes with a 110V charger. You can also purchase a separate genuine 220V Nintendo charger from them for P695 but if you have a Transformer or an AVR, then the free 110V adapter would do.
For reference, the New 2DS XL has an SRP of $150 in the US. Its local price is still P545 more expensive compared to the US SRP (P8,195 vs P7,650) but it might be your best option if you do not want to spend extra money on shipping, taxes, and other miscellaneous fees.
DataBlitz has yet to post an update.
As always, please coordinate with your preferred branch first to avoid unnecessary mishaps. You can use the Game Retailer Branches & Contacts page as reference for store locations and contact numbers.
Is this enough to convince you to buy or upgrade to a New 3DS XL unit or will you wait for the Pokemon Edition New 2DS XL on November? Unfortunately, our local retailers have yet to confirm if they will be able to get copies of the said Limited Edition system next month.
