How to Get Your Own Hoopa in Pokemon X, Y, OR, & AS

Prepare your hopia, mani, or popcorn as this is your third chance to get Hoopa!

Get your own Hoopa in Pokemon X, Y, Omega Ruby, or Alpha Sapphire by following the instructions below. Remember, your system needs to be updated to the latest firmware before you can perform this.

Instructions

• Load your copy of Pokemon X, Y, Omega Ruby, or Alpha Sapphire.
• At the title screen, choose Mystery Gift.
• Choose Receive Gift.
• Select Yes.
• Choose Get With Code.
• Select Yes.
• Enter the serial code 2016HOOPA (as in Hoopa, not H00pa).
• After receiving Hoopa's Wonder Card, talk to the Event Lady NPC inside any Pokemon Center in-game to receive your Event Hoopa.

UPDATE: This event will end on October 9 and will only work for North American (the same region as US, Asian or MDE) copies of the game. The method of acquiring this Hoopa is similar to the Second Chance Hoopa previously distributed last April 2016 with HOOPA2016 as the universal code. Unlike the previous event (OT: Harry, ID No: 10235, Held item: Focus Sash) this Hoopa has Alexander as its OT with the ID No 10036 and it holds a Smoke Ball.

Hoopa's Unbound Forme can only be acquired in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. To do this, add Hoopa to your party and enter any Poké Mart. A new clerk will show up near the counter at the far left side. If you interact with this clerk, the game transitions to another view as the clerk tells you a story. The clerk will then give you the Prison Bottle which you can use to transform Hoopa Confined into Hoopa Unbound. Hoopa will revert into Hoopa Confined three days after using the Prison Bottle or if it is deposited in the PC.

Remember, you can still get Keldeo and Darkrai until their respective events end.
