Francis Tai from PKMN-ph: Pilipinas Got Pokemon will be spearheading the Pilipinas Got Pokemon Championship Series project.

The Pilipinas Got Pokemon Championship Series, hereinafter referred to as "PGP-CS", will act similar to the VGC Championship Series (held in the physical world at Robinson's Galleria) only that the former will be done online via WiFi battles. The reason we are doing this is to give the community a sense of fun outside the standard VGC format as well as provide you trainers with a challenge.

The series will involve Major and Minor tournaments where you can accumulate PGP Points in order to be able to qualify in the PGP Invitational; which will have PRIZES. If you are interested in taking part, then please be aware that we will be using the custom PGP Format for this tournament. This will be further explained below.

PGP Format

  • All matches are played in the Doubles Flat format.
  • Pokémon above Level 50 will be brought down to 50 for the match while those below 50 will stay as is.
  • Players choose 4 of their 6 registered Pokémon after team preview.
  • Pentagon Rule: All Pokémon must have the blue pentagon on their stats page indicating they were caught, bred, or received as an official gift in Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby, or Alpha Sapphire.
  • Species Clause: No two Pokémon on your team can share the same Pokédex number.
  • Item Clause: No two Pokémon on your team can hold the same held item.
  • The following moves are banned: Dark Void
  • All Legendary and Mythical Pokémon are banned (all forms):

    Articuno Latias Heatran Reshiram
    Zapdos Latios Manaphy Zekrom
    Moltres Kyogre Arceus Kyurem
    Mew Groudon Darkrai Genesect
    Mewtwo Rayquaza Shaymin Keldeo
    Entei Jirachi Phione Meloetta
    Raikou Deoxys Regigigas Xerneas
    Suicune Mesprit Victini Yveltal
    Lugia Uxie Cobalion Zygarde
    Ho-oh Azelf Terrakion Diancie
    Celebi Dialga Virizion Hoopa
    Regice Palkia Tornadus
    Regirock Cresselia Thundurus
    Registeel Giratina Landorus
Legitimacy

  • Only legitimate copies of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire for the Nintendo 3DS are allowed in the competition.
  • Please refrain from using Pokémon of questionable origin (hacked, modified, Powersaved, etc.).
  • Players found to have illegal copies of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire or Pokémon that have been tampered with will be disqualified from the event and banned from future Tournaments, regardless of whether the player tampered with his or her game or received a Pokémon or item that was tampered with by someone other than the player.
Additional Rules

  • The organizer(s) have a final say as regards to any complications that may occur (e.g. disconnection problems, no-shows, etc.).
  • Only players who have duly accomplished the registration form for this tournament will be allowed to participate.
  • Players who fail to follow the aforementioned rules will be subject to disqualification.

Having discussed the format, we will now move on to explain the tournaments that you can try to earn points in as well as the points structure and tournament format for each one.

Tournament Organizers
Organizers will earn 20 PGP-CS Points for hosting a Major Tournament and 5 PGP-CS Points for each Minor Tournaments for helping out. They are also permitted to take part in the tournament they are hosting should they wish to, provided they follow the rules as a regular player would.

The limit for the number of hosts for Minor Tournaments is 2 and for 3 for Major Tournaments. This is done to ensure points are not being easily given and taken advantage of by the hosts and to ensure fair points distribution with competitors being factored in.

PGP Invitational

This will be the final leg of the series where only the Top 16 players who accumulated the most PGP-CS Points will be able to take part in.

The Invitational will be held on October 29, 2016 at 8:30 PM Local time.

The Pokemon Champion will receive a trophy among other prizes! (Prizes are TBA)

If you're interested in joining any of these tournaments then be sure to standby for the registration instructions. This will be posted by the organizers in the Pilipinas Got Pokemon Facebook Group and through this site.
